Rach Eats Lunch: Marmite Pasta

Marmite pasta recipe

Today I am mostly sponsored by adrenalin. Actual, real life, crazy, OMG-what-just-happened adrenalin. You see, there's one thing I've always wanted, and because of how things are (cryptic), it hasn't come my way, but I've dreamed about it. I've given it serious thought. I've imagined it. I've wanted it soooooo badly. And, um, guess what? It finally happened today. Yeah, really. I've sent god knows how many excited Whatsapps in the family group chat describing it in full glorious detail, but I can safely say (once it's done, dusted and delivered), I am one hot lucky chick. And I'll be able to tell you what it is when I'm ready, and yes, it is blog-related, so get excited, peeps!

Today's recipe, is, like me, sponsored by adrenalin. It's for those moments when you're starving but you're also brain-dead due to excitement. All that inspiration? Right out the window! So, I am making a classic (that doesn't have baked beans in it, like the last incarnation did), that's also a bit spicy and a hella lot tasty and cheesy. It's easy stuff, but I need it today!

(An easy, wet-fish slap for your senses)

Serves 1

You'll need:
100g dried spaghetti
2 big tablespoons Marmite
1 teaspoon chilli flakes
30g grated cheese

1. Literally... just grab a saucepan full of hot water and boil it up until the water bubbles, then gently drop in the spaghetti. Allow it to swirl in the pan, and stir it around until it doubles in size and gets lovely and soft, but not too far gone or it'll be all starchy in the pan and the water won't drain. Crikey.

2. Next, drain the water from the pasta and drop it back into the pan with a teeny bit of hot water left over. Spoon in the Marmite and stir it up until it's liberally coated in the stuff. Repeat with the chilli flakes if you fancy.

3. Finally, pour over your grated cheese, and eat while freaking out a bit. Not because it's delicious, but because you have news to celebrate!

This was utterly delicious - I had no idea I'd also come to the end of my big jar of Marmite, but there you go! The chilli flakes add just that hit of heat to a very delicious, simple meal! Enjoy!
