Adventures: Firebird

Forest Flame 2012

Yesterday, our village park held an event in which a huge wooden sculpture of a crow, created by a local fire sculptor, was burnt as a bonfire! I ventured up to the crow before the event to take some photos of it in construction, and along the way discovered an archway of decorated tealights the local schoolchildren had made. The local secondary school took part too, making smaller wooden sculptures of mythical creatures, which were also burnt too. Before the bonfire was a procession of lights, music, and mini sculptures, before the crow was finally set alight! It was a very good evening and it certainly captured my imagination. Enjoy!
